Laurel & I have spent many a days (long into the night) hanging out at the house of Miss Sharlane Chase – a dear friend (sweet as sweet can be), an AMAZING photographer & always a FABULOUS hostess (always ice cream to offer!).  We’ve enjoyed picnics, lunches, dinners & ALWAYS include the lovely Miss Anna (also known as the Bean!) & David, we can’t forget David!!  Although I think he prefers a little man time during all of this giggling!!

Our adventures are always fun and silly but eventually turn into business.  (because that’s what we love!)   We talk about equipment, favorite venues & vendors – funny stories, troubles in paradise and one thing that comes up often is… what if we get sick? and the answer always is –  we will cover for you!! (always!)  We’ll come to the wedding, help change a tire, or do whatever it takes to make sure you are okay!  (cause that’s what friends do & Shar is always leading the pack at doing nice things for others!)

Well – its go time.  We got some really heart breaking news over the holiday – Sharlane was diagnosed with cancer.  The doctors have the highest expectations that with surgery (or two) she will be just fine.  And with Shar’s positive, no worries attitude I know she will come out on top!   But this will be a rough time for her – scary, exhausting – oh and don’t forget the bills!

So, the industry has come together and doing what they do best – we’re throwing a party!!

“Sharlane is a mother, a photographer, and our friend.  This year began like a fairy tale, complete with a magical proposal from the man she loves.  Like so many fairy tales, this one turned dark as Sharlane was diagnosed with cancer even before the wedding planning could begin.  The diagnosis itself is scary enough, but so are the crushing costs associated.  This is our attempt to help our friend, who has helped so many herself.”
