Today is Wednesday – one of my faaavorite days!! BNI! Today’s featured member is none other than the fabulous – gorgeous – hysterical – full of energy – wonderful Trish Ratcliff!!
I was lucky enough to meet Trish about three years ago when she joined BNI, we had a dance card (coffee date) and right away I knew… she was one of the good ones! Since then, we’ve gone shopping, met for cocktails, met each others families (who I also love! Hi Dale, Trista, Heather & Jackson!) and of course had more than a couple of makeovers! Trish keeps me stocked up in moisturizers, foundation, eye/lip/cheek color – you name it, I’ve got it in my makeup bag!
Last week Trish & I met at the Tully’s on Mercer Island (the same place we had our first one to one!) and we snapped a few photos, here is one of my favorites:
To start us off: Who are you & how can we reach you?

1. How long have you been in business? I have been in Mary Kay for a combined total of 15 yrs. What about BNI? I have been a member of BNI 3 years
2.What made you choose the Madison Marketeers? At the time I was not looking for a network group but, was invited to attend a meeting of the Madison Marketeers and I really enjoyed the quality and personality of the group!
3. What has BNI done for your business? BNI has brought me several different avenues to expand my Mary Kay business.
4. What are your goals? My goals for this year is to be Mary Kays Queens Court of Sales for 2010. We just started out fiscal year so I am really motivated! In the next few years I would like to build a very strong customer base, so when my husband retires we can still play, (like trips to Europe)
5. What do you like most about work? Mary Kay brings me the opportunity to meet all kinds of people. Everyone has a story and I love giving them something that makes them feel better about themselves…
6. What is a typical day for you? That is what I like about being able to set my own hours with Mary Kay, I am my own boss.
Sometimes it is meeting people in person or communicating via email or phone. Every day is different I Love that!!
7. Is there anything you specialize in your business? Teaching people about taking care of their skin is fun, without healthy skin, any cosmetics is not going to give you the effect you want. Your face is the first impression people have about you.
8. What sets you apart from your competitors? Being able to try before you buy in the privacy of your home and the satisfaction that you are working with a company that has been around for 46 years.
9. Describe your dream client: A dream client is one that regularly uses several products in Mary Kay’s skin care line
10. Where can people read about you? Well most of the published recognition is within the Mary Kay world….I have one several prizes and in my first career with Mary Kay I won a car.
11. Any hobbies? I love to paint on canvas which is both hobby and I have been fortunate to sell my artwork. Also I am a big reader of all kinds…drama, spiritual, biography, history
12. Why did you get into this business? Initially when my daughter was 5 years old and I was a single parent, and wanted the extra income. I was a consultant and director for several years and then went on to do other things. About six years ago I decided to be a consultant for the same reason only to build for our retirement years…same goal, different stage of life!
13. Do you travel for work? Not at the moment although I do have business in other states. I offer free shipping of the Mary Kay product to my clients everywhere.
14. What is one interesting fact about you? I belong to a club in Seattle ,the Woman Century Club which is over a hundred years old. It was started by some of the original Suffragette women who fought for the right for women to vote. Women have only had this right since 1920.
15. What would you like people to know about you… your business & why they should hire you? I love taking care of your special skin care and cosmetics needs and finding what product works best for you. I specialize in doing fundraisers, making gift baskets, whether it is one to one or in a group setting, just girlfriends having fun.
Hooray!! Now that you know so much more about Trish & her Mary Kay business you can call her if you have any questions or want to set up a consultation – they are a LOT of fun!! Here is her contact info one more time:
