My new FAVORITE Inn is in my new FAVORITE town! How could I have lived in Washington State for 9 years already and just discovered La Conner? I mean yeah sure – I’ve heard of it, but had never really been there and it is FABULOUS!! This little picturesque town is filled with art galleries, antique stores and coffee – three of my favorite things!!! The Queen of the Valley Inn is located just outside of the downtown area and couldn’t be more perfect! There are plenty of fabulous rooms for you & your friends to stay with lots of history and best of all is Shelly my favorite Inn Keeper! She is SO much fun & I can’t wait to go and stay overnight .
The Queen turns 100 years old this year, so if you are in need of a weekend gettaway, you should head up (or over or down) to La Conner to visit & help celebrate! HERE is a link to their website, and say hi to Shelly for me when you get there!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day:
Great pictures, they bring back a lot of memories. As a young child, I lived in that house for a few years.
Barbie – Thank you for visiting La Conner and for passing on such kind thoughts of your experience. Your photo’s are beautiful, they show off the Inn and Town as romantic and quaint – exactly the qualities that we are most proud of.
A slower pace, friendly locals, home grown organic food served in many of our restaurants, oldest town in Skagit Valley, Rainbow Bridge and the business district both are listed as historical landmarks, sheltered boating wayfare, perfect for biking, and more!
You can sign up for an E-newsletter that will keep you informed on what is coming up in La Conner by going to the chamber’s website at http://www.laconnerchamber.com and click on the upper right hand corner. Thanks again, Marci Plank
This is my favorite local b&b! We send all of our wine customers looking for a place to stay out to the Queen!
Thanks so much Barbie! Your pictures show The Queen off to her finest!
La Conner is a everything Marci says it is and more. The town welcomed us with open arms when we bought the inn 4 years ago and undertook a major renovation.
La Conner has NO chain stores or restaurants, just many wonderful independent businesses who work their hardest to preserve the town’s authentic flavor and promote its unique qualities. Many a waterfront village has “sold its soul” for a bigger tax base, thus losing what was unusual and special in the first place. We offer one of the truly authentic experiences left in the state of Washington, and you don’t have to take a ferry to get here.
Your photos are wonderful. Thanks so much and I hope to see you again soon. Breakfast awaits….
Shelly Davis, Owner, Queen of the Valley Inn
Hail to the Queen!
The photographs say it all! We had a wonderfull night at the Queen in July 2007. We hope to go back again sometime for a longer stay. The Gordon Family, Aberdeenshire. SCOTLAND.
That says and shows it all. The Queen is the only place to stay.
My wife and I were married at the Queen on Christmas Eve 2006. Picture a vintage farmhouse lit in white lights, a huge Christmas tree greeting you in the foyer and a blazing wood burning stove. You are instantly charmed feeling you’ve stepped into Norman Rockwell painting. With candles and greens the sitting room was transformed into a chapel. We were looking for a setting reminiscent of days when families gathered, shared good times and created unforgetable memories. We found all of this and more at the Queen!
