Back to school portrait time!!

Aaaahhhh  Memories.   This one isn’t a pleasant one… for me.  It was ROUGH growing up.  I’m not joking.

I was NEVER a trendy kid (nor am I now) I never took part in the mall bangs, the ratted hair (although I did get a perm to look like Baby in Dirty Dancing) I was (and am now) very conservative with my look.  No crazy patterns, no risks – no fear of THIS ever happening again.

When I was in the third grade (huge sigh) my Mom’s friend (I won’t mention her name – its like fingernails on a chalkboard) went to beauty school and decided she was going to give me and my two sisters a new hair do.

I went first.  (tear)  I WANTED to look like Jem and the Holograms (Truly Outrageous!)

Okay then.  THIS (grab some tissue… you are going to cry… I did.) is a photo of me.

NOW – I bet you are wondering WHY in the world I would do this to my self.  UGH.  (I’m beginning to re-think it as well)

I figured – A) I’m going to be famous and it will come out at some point right??

B) It is too hidious/awful/ridiculous/hilarious NOT to share.  (we all need a good laugh)

C) It is a GOOD reminder – don’t let your awful school photo be the only memory of that year of your life.

Even if you get a bad haircut…. there are ways to fix it, hats, and scarves and good photoshop skillz.  hahahahaha  SO this is the game we are going to play.

Okay!!!  We’ve had our first entry!!

Mindy at TweetMyWedding sent her photos in today – from 1st & 2nd grade  (1st grade is obviously the cutest little girl EVER) and 2nd grade….. while the bangs are awesome and the teeth are great – I would NEVER call this cutie ugly!!  heeheheheheh  What do you guys think??  A Dakota Fanning look-alike?

SECOND ENTRY!!!  A GREAT competitor!!  Brooke Fay (previously Belanger) says this is how a mother with straight hair cuts the hair of a curly headed child …. and this was her school photo for at LEAST three years.
