Hello!
So if you know me, met me, or have been at the same meeting/party (mostly parties) you will have heard me talk about the FABULOUS group of ladies I’ve teamed up with to create this amazing non-profit company – Get Hitched Give Hope.
Every day I get butterflies in my stomach…. only 73 more days!! (October 23rd to be exact) This isn’t just a swanky cocktail party at the newly renovated Arctic Club Hotel (designed by the fabulous Steven Moore), it isn’t just a way for brides, grooms and friends to chat up Seattle’s top wedding vendors bid on their services and win amazing prizes… but it is also a great way to give back. You (or someone you know) must be planning a wedding in the next year or two (everyone’s doing it!) – So you will have to hire a photographer, a DJ, an event planner, have invitations made, buy a dress, shoes, makeup the whole shibang. So why not come to our party – bid on some FABULOUS auction items and hire someone who not only is amazing at what they do but who will donate all the money you pay them to charity???
Speaking of the charity – let me tell you a little about them. The group is Called Brides Against Breast Cancer & The Making Memories Foundation. They go all over the country having gown sales (gorgeous gowns) at a discounted price to raise money in order to grant wishes for families that are battling breast cancer. One amazing story I’ve heard – there was a woman in Snohomish who was diagnosed with breast cancer and given just a short time to live. Her wish was for a camera so she could document the last few months of her life to create a memory album for her two small children. (amazing) Some wishes are small, others are big. But all of them big or small have a HUGE impact on the families they help.
I really wish we didn’t have to deal with the pain & suffering of losing a loved one – but if we can help make it easier on people… why not?!
