I am being locked up for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on October 18 and need YOU to help bail me out of jail.  By making a donation to MDA, you will be greatly impacting the lives of local children and adults.  Here is just one story of the difference that can be made by making a donation today…

A family recently moved from Russia and the boy desperately needed a power wheel chair and the family had no medical insurance.  The boy was seen at the MDA Clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the MDA Grant covered his medical bills.  The boy that was seen at Children’s Clinic and was sitting in a baby stroller and barely fit in it and looked very uncomfortable.  The boy looked at me grinning from ear to ear and said all I want for my birthday is a power wheel chair.  From our MDA Loan Closet we were able to deliver a power wheel chair to him on his birthday.  Without your help we wouldn’t be able to provide a MDA Clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital and a Closet full of top of the line durable medical equipment to our families.  WE appreciate all your help and know that the money raised is going right back to pay for patient services right here in King County.

A clinic visit costs $150 and the average cost to refurbish a power wheelchair and deliver it to a family is $500… so every $650 dollars raised makes this type of impact on a child with a neuromuscular disease, and will get me closer to my $3,000 bail.  How many more birthday wishes can we make come true?

Donations can be made in cash, checks made out to MDA, credit cards or online by clicking on my personal fundraising site http://www2.mda.org/goto/barbie.hull!

On behalf of this little boy and all of MDA’s client families, thank you!
