A beautiful sunny weekend!

Seattle weather is my favorite type of weather!  Never too cold – rarely too hot and after a long stretch of dreary weather, we got a gorgeous sunny weekend that welcomed us into spring!  Since the sun is the MOST inspiring weather, I grabbed my camera and hit the streets… well, technically – the parks!  AND since the blue sky is still beaming into my windows now – I thought I would share some of the fun with you too!

The first session of the weekend is two fun new friends – Tressa & John!  It was only natural that they got engaged at a Halloween party at their home – it was SO sweet because this coming October…. on the 29th they are going to have THE most amazing wedding!! Its a Halloween themed wedding!!  I’m stoked to be working with Megan Keller of a Kurant Event, she makes everything more fun!!  This rad session started at the warehouse where we staged a sweet & a scary shot… which we are going to mix together and print them using Lenticular Printing… its going to be UH-MAY-ZING!~!  I’ll post a little snippet as soooooooon as I get a proof back!  Until then – check out the shots from John & Tressa’s engagement portrait, after the warehouse we headed down to Qwest Field which is the PERFECT background!  ;0)  Enjoy!!

Bright and early Saturday morning I met up with Mike, Jean-Louise & Cash — it was really THE most perfect day!  It was sunny, with a little wind – but overall gorgeous! We ran & jumped – fell on the ground, landed in mud pits and best of all ended the day w/ a couple of dum-dums!  These guys are SO cute and made me laugh SO hard that they totally deserved their end of shoot lollipops!  OH – and thank you to Jean-Louise for sending me home with her bouquet of gorgeous flowers!!  She is the genius florist behind Juniper Flowers!! (That makes the flowers sitting in my window that much cooler!!)   I hope you love your session!!

Saturday afternoon…. STILL as gorgeous as the morning!!  Nathan, Vani & I met up at the gorgeous Kerry Park in Seattle’s Queen Anne Neighborhood.  We walked along the sunny streets enjoying the view, the sound of seaplanes flying over the sound & discovered new little trails we’d NEVER been to which I was most impressed by!!  These two are so sweet and so in love – I can’t wait for their wedding coming up at one of my VERY favorite venues — The Great Hall!! Oh – and I’m super excited to work with Alison, from Exclusive Image Event Planning.  Vani & Nathan – you two are SO much fun, I hope you love your portraits!!

Sunday morning – G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S!  Here is the view from Sunset Park overlooking Shilshole Bay in Ballard.

This couple below is Nate & Kristin… I remember hearing about them long before ever meeting them!  Nate’s sister Erin is a good friend & a few years ago while planning her wedding she mentioned that her brother met this sweet girl and she really hoped it would work out.  Here we are!!  July 3rd is the big day and it is going to be a FABULOUS party!! These two braved the most insane wind I’ve seen in a long time – and you can’t tell from the photos, but tears were running down our eyes because of the chilly weather — but it was worth it!  Look at those mountains!   It was great spending Sunday morning with you two! I hope you love your photos!!

oooookay!  Are you READY for Sunday afternoon??  First I picked up my good pal Eliza Truitt – we had a quick lunch at our favorite Fuel Coffee and then headed over to Bob & Lara’s home in West Seattle which was part of the AIA home tour.  Lara is my very favorite architectural photographer, Lara Swimmer Photography — I used to be Lara’s assistant!  Bob is an AMAZING architect — he is one of the owners of Zimmerray Studios Architecture firm.  Their work is phenomenal!!  I wish you guys could’ve been there to see their home and experience it first hand, my photos won’t do it justice.

Our last stop was VOILA! A super sweet boutique wedding show over in Kirkland. Put together by Pink Blossom Events & Panache they feature some of Seattle’s finest wedding vendors.  The party stretched into four rooms and each room featured a different season.  My favorite drink was in the winter room – a creme mint martini (YUM!) the best dessert was in Summer — cakes by Judy of Tallant House, the best decor was of course in Spring by Heathoriginal, Laurel’s Floral Decor and Ephemera.  I love this concept!! You girls (and boys!) did an amazing job!!

Aaaand that was my weekend!!  ;0)  I hope you had as much fun hearing about it as I did taking these photos!!  Thanks for checking out my blog!! See you next post!
